Dual Study Programmes Ready for Implementation: Business & Energy Programmes Enter Testing Phase
From Development to Practice: Two Dual Study Programmes Ready to Launch
Within the BA&VET project, significant progress has been achieved in developing innovative dual study formats that strengthen permeability between vocational education and higher education. Two three-stage dual study programmes—Business Administration & Sustainable Management of SMEs and Management of Renewable Building Energy Technology—have now completed their development phase.
The concepts, curricula, module handbooks and examination regulations for both programmes are finalised, creating a solid and coherent framework for implementation. This milestone marks the transition from conceptual work to practical application.
Business Administration & Sustainable Management of SMEs
The dual study programme Business Administration & Sustainable Management of SMEs is designed to qualify students for management roles in small and medium-sized enterprises with a strong focus on sustainability. The curriculum integrates core business disciplines with sustainability-oriented content, practical training phases and recognised vocational qualifications.
The three-stage structure allows learners to combine vocational training, further vocational education and academic study in a coordinated pathway. Clear learning outcomes, practice-integrated modules and defined examination regulations ensure transparency, quality and recognition across educational systems.
Management of Renewable Building Energy Technology
In parallel, the dual study programme Management of Renewable Building Energy Technology addresses the growing demand for qualified specialists in the energy and building sector. The programme combines engineering fundamentals with management competences and applied training in renewable energy technologies for buildings.
Students acquire both technical and organisational skills, preparing them for roles at the interface of engineering, energy management and sustainable construction. Practical phases and applied learning play a central role throughout the programme structure.
Implementation and Testing at Gdansk University of Technology
Both dual study programmes are starting this semester at Gdansk University of Technology. With the programmes now fully developed, the testing phase begins, focusing on implementation, teaching processes and learner experience.
The testing phase will provide valuable insights into programme organisation, curriculum coherence and practical applicability. Feedback from students, teachers and implementation partners will support further refinement and long-term quality assurance.
A Key Step Towards Sustainable Education Pathways
By completing the development of these two dual study programmes and initiating their implementation, the BA&VET project takes a major step towards sustainable, practice-oriented education pathways. The programmes demonstrate how vocational training and higher education can be effectively integrated to meet labour-market needs and support future-oriented skills development.
The upcoming testing phase will lay the groundwork for further roll-out, transfer and long-term use beyond the project duration.
