Hanse-Parlament

Germany (Hamburg)

The Hanse-Parlament is an association of 50 chambers of commerce and industry from 13 countries in the Baltic Sea region. The members represent around 500,000 SMEs and are dedicated to strengthening economic performance and promoting education and innovation. An experienced secretariat in Hamburg develops practical funding measures that are tested in cooperation with partners and implemented throughout the region. With extensive expertise in SME support, education and innovation, as well as many years of experience in international projects, including managing projects with up to 40 partners, the Hanseatic Parliament offers valuable support for the project.

The Baltic Sea Academy, a department of the Hanseatic Parliament, brings together 24 colleges and universities from 9 countries. It promotes dual study programmes, research and knowledge transfer for SMEs. Its expertise in developing and implementing innovative solutions and in collaborating with companies and science makes it a strong partner.

Role in the project:

  • Managing the content, financial and organisational aspects of project management
  • Developing concepts and programmes, e.g. for promoting innovation and sustainable management
  • Conducting training and consulting on the implementation of project content

Satakunta University of applied Sciences (SAMK)

Finland (Pori)

Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) is an internationally oriented Finnish university of applied sciences with 6,300 students and more than 500 experts. SAMK offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes as well as special qualification courses and supports life-long learning. SAMK offers education in four faculties: Technology, Logistics and Maritime Technology, Health and Welfare, and Service Business. Through close cooperation with work life, SAMK supports regional development, promotes innovation and strengthens SMEs and regional welfare services. Innovative approaches such as work-based learning, technology transfer and practice-oriented study programmes have led to co-operation with over 500 companies annually.

With extensive expertise in the development of modern teaching methods and curricula, particularly in digital education, SAMK brings in-depth knowledge to the project. Its long-standing cooperation with SMEs and the implementation of research and development projects make SAMK a valuable partner.

Role in the project:

  • Developing a dual study programme and module handbook for Bachelor of engineering in Management of Renewable Energy Technology in Buildings -course,
  • Developing a further training course Energy consultant,
  • Promoting RDI projects with and in SMEs
  • Evaluating RDI-projects run within the framework of BA&VET and their results

Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech)

Estonian (Tallinn)

Tallinn Technical University (TalTech) is Estonia’s leading technological university with over 10,000 students and 2,000 employees, 1,200 of whom are involved in teaching and research. It offers research-based degree programmes in engineering, IT, economics and environmental technologies. With a focus on intelligent solutions for a digital and climate-neutral future, TalTech is positioning itself as a pioneer in innovative education and research. Tartu College, an academic unit of TalTech, complements the portfolio with practice-oriented study programmes and further education offers.

TalTech has a strong international profile through its membership in international networks such as EUROTEQ and UNICA, as well as over 600 partnerships worldwide. Research focuses on energy-efficient technologies, digital economy and innovative SME solutions.

Role in the project:

  • Developing a module manual for the ‘Energy and Climate Protection’ course
  • Testing and evaluating selected modules of the course in practice
  • Creating an evaluation concept and report for module development
  • Promoting innovation through research and development projects

Politechnika Gdanska

Poland (Gdansk)

The Gdańsk University of Technology is one of the largest universities in Poland and a leader in science and research in the north of the country. With extensive academic rights, it enjoys a high level of national and international recognition. The Faculty of Management and Economics offers specialised courses of study and is involved in Europe-wide research projects. It has particular expertise in the areas of international management, SME management and workplace-related innovations.

With many years of experience in international research and development projects, such as Innovative Business Transfer Models for SMEs in the BSR and Knowledge Alliance ‘Human Resources and Organisational Development’, the university has developed innovative courses, including the dual bachelor’s degree in ‘Human Resources and Business Administration’.

Role in the project:

  • Development and implementation of a three-tier dual bachelor’s degree programme in Business Administration & Sustainable Management of SMEs
  • Creation of a module handbook with an integrated further education programme, teaching materials, examination regulations and evaluation reports
  • Promotion of innovation and implementation of research projects for SMEs

Estonian Chamber of commerce and Industry

Estonian (Tallinn)​

Founded in 1925, the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ECCI) is the largest business representative organisation in Estonia, with over 3,300 members. The chamber’s members generate more than 41% of the net turnover of all Estonian companies. As an active partner of the government, the ECCI shapes economic policy, offers a wide range of services such as legal advice, foreign trade support and vocational training, and hosts Estonia’s only permanent arbitration court. With offices in five cities and a team of 43 employees, the ECCI is also an important player in international projects and a member of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN).

Role in the project:

  • Conducting company analyses to determine the need for training in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energies
  • Providing advice on the development of the ‘Management of Renewable Energy in Buildings’ course
  • Developing solutions for combining initial vocational training with bachelor’s degree programmes in Estonia
  • Testing and evaluating further training courses for SMEs and their employees
  • Developing and implementing an examination regulation for the new further training qualification ‘Energy Service Manager’

After the project has ended, ECCI will implement dual study programs and further training modules on a long-term basis in order to counter the growing shortage of skilled workers and to qualify future company successors.

Poland (Gdańsk)

The Chamber of Skilled Crafts and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in the Pomerania region is one of the largest and most modern chambers of its kind in Poland. It supports its member companies with a comprehensive range of services, particularly in the areas of vocational education and training and promoting innovation. The chamber operates two state-recognised vocational schools with over 600 students, successfully combining school-based education with elements of dual vocational training. It also maintains an academy for continuing vocational education and training and acts as an examination centre for journeyman and further training examinations. Thanks to its close cooperation with companies and universities, the chamber is an important partner for education and development projects.

Role in the project:

  • Conducting needs analyses for the development of the ‘Business Administration and Sustainable Management of SMEs’ course
  • Consultancy and support in the development and implementation of the course in cooperation with Poitechnika Gdańska
  • Developing solutions for combining initial vocational training with bachelor’s degree programmes in Poland
  • Testing and implementing further education modules for SMEs and their employees
  • Creating an examination regulation for the new further education qualification ‘Business Administration & Sustainable Management of SMEs’

After the project has ended, the chamber will sustainably implement dual study programmes and further education modules in order to counter the growing shortage of skilled workers and to optimally qualify company successors.

Berufliche Fachhochschule Hamburg (BHH)

Germany (Hamburg)

The University of Applied Sciences Hamburg (BHH) was founded in 2021 as the successor to the Hamburg University of Cooperative Education and combines vocational and academic education in innovative dual bachelor’s degree programmes. The university works closely with Hamburg’s vocational schools and partner companies to optimally integrate training and studies. A special feature is the study-integrated training, which allows participants to flexibly design their educational path within the first 18 months. The BHH qualifies future managers and company successors for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and offers training companies new perspectives for the targeted promotion of young talent.

Role in the project:

  • Development of a further education programme and a module handbook for the three-stage course of studies ‘Sustainable Management’
  • Testing and evaluation of modules of the dual courses of studies ‘Sustainable Management’ and ‘Energy & Climate Protection’
  • Implementation of these dual courses of studies and advising the project partners on their introduction
  • Contribution of many years of experience and proven curricula for the support of SMEs through innovative educational offers
